UP Kuna

UP Kuna, DHV 1

We’re really happy to announce that the new school glider, the UP Kuna has passed the new DHV 1 certification procedure, so far in the size M. The Kuna replaces the UP Pulse as our beginner and school paraglider, and is sure to find an enthusiastic audience among schools and beginners wishing to learn our exiting sport in the safest and easiest possible way! The Kuna is available in sizes M already, sizes S and L will follow.

The UP Kuna especially strikes in 3 Points:

  • Safety - The Kuna fulfills the new DHV 1 criteria!
  • Handling - The nice, smooth Handling is surprising for a DHV 1 glider, although it has a long brake way.
  • Good look - The new outline makes the Kuna very well looking – and that with only 33 cells.

UP Makalu 2

UPs new DHV 1-2: Makalu 2 !

Our new basic DHV 1-2 glider, the UP Makalu 2 is here! After 3 years of successful sales of the Makalu we are proud to introduce its successor now. The Makalu 2 fulfills the new test fly criterions of the DHV and shows a homogeneous and sporty outline. It is especially the extraordinary handling that makes the Makalu 2 really nice to fly with.

Size M is certified by DHV and available at some impoters already. In Size L the Makalu 2 has just passed the DHV certification. This size will be available from End of February on. At Stubai Cup (16th to 18th of January) there’ll be the official introduction of the Makalu 2 where pilots are invited to test fly it.

UP Tandem Sherpa 2

Sherpa 2: New UP Tandem is ready for take off

NEW! the UP Sherpa 2 has only its name in common with the predecessor the Sherpa. We have worked closely with a select group of professional tandem pilots to create a wing according to their exact specifications (although performance is considerably better than needed for that particular purpose) and have managed to make a wing that is equally suited for daily professional use and for the performance-oriented hobby pilot wanting to double his fun in the air. The new Sherpa 2 is light and packs small, is easy to launch and flares to a complete stop, making each landing a pleasure for both pilot and passenger. The handling is light and well coordinated and the glider is stable at all speeds, providing good safety margins to the comfort of all involved. The Sherpa comes equipped with trimmers and covers a weight range of 130-220kgs.

UPs' new Tandem passed the DHV certification and is ready to be ordered now!

Sherpa 2 means user-friendliness at its best.

UP Kantega

Kantega (DHV category 1-2)

The UP Kantega closes the gap in between the UP Makalu and the UP Summit 2 as the performing intermediate in the 1-2 range. The extremely successful “Honeycomb-V-Tape System“, which was inserted for the first time a year ago in the UP Trango, gives the Kantega an excellent stability. The UP Kantega is one of the first gliders which fulfil the new more demanding DHV flight tests. The Handling is laid out agile by purpose. The new Intermediate addresses itself to ambitious beginners who, after training, quickly want to become better as well as to experienced pilots who don’t want to miss performance on discovery flights and at the same time appreciate large security reserves.

UP Kantega - A completely newly constructed Intermediate for the upper DHV 1-2 level.

UP Summit 2

Summit 2 (DHV category 2)

Handling, performance, and security - never has a glider had all three criteria set homogeneously in a relationship as with the new UP Summit 2. The proven „Honeycomb-V-Tape System“ was modified especially for the UP Summit 2 and used in connection with a new line geometry. This new Construction leads – in combination with a newly calculated airfoil – to a significant higher performance. The UP Summit also fulfils the new demanding DHV flight tests.

„The best handling a UP glider ever had“, the UP test pilots all agreed: the UP Summit 2 sets a new milestone in handling. It does not surprise us, that the UP Summit 2 was tested more in the air than was required. - Flying the UP´s new performance Intermediate is simply addictive.

The UP Summit 2 is aimed to experienced pilots, who above all want to appreciate a perfect handling.

UP Summit 2 - the new constructed Intermediate (DHV 2) with a perfect handling, performance and security.

UP Targa

Targa (open class competition glider)

This is the first choice for competition pilots. The UP R&D / Competition team has done a very good job improving the performance of the UP Targa compared to its successful predecessor, the UP Gambit C. Targa vs Gambit C; the Targa has 84 cells with seams on the inside, v-ribs, and an optimized leading edge which has been closed an additional 30 %, a newly developed trailing edge just to mention some main points. The result: is a glider with a fantastic glide and furthermore, the glider reaches easily a speed well over 60 km/h. The UP Targa is intended for very experienced league and competition pilots who participate in international competitions

UP Targa - UP’s newest competition model – the first choice for many top competition pilots.

Some of the big names that selected the glider UP Targa for 2003 are for example for example Alex Hofer, Oliver Rössl, JM Caron, Torsten Siegel, Peter Brinkeby, etc.
