Limited flight license (Beschränkter Luftfahrer-Schein)
The requirement for the "Beschränkter Luftfahrer-Schein" is the "Ö-Lizenz". The class takes
about 8-12 days. The practical training includes 15 flights with a vertical differences of 100-400 meters as well as 25 flights with over 400 meters. Holders of the "Ö-Lizenz" or other foreign licences need a lesser quantity of flights depending on their experience. In addition to the practical training, there is 20 hours of theoretical instruction that includes meteorology, safety, aerodynamics, and aeronautical law. The tests are conducted by the
"Deutschen Hängegleiter Verband (DHV).
